Faith & Insight: We have too many blessings to count

One 14-year-old Colorado Springs boy has more than the usual blessings to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. My grandson, Wyatt, recently received an inheritance from a close family friend, "Reno" Dave Ross. Dave left to the Little Rocker eight guitars, three amps and every type of accessory. Wyatt also came into possession of an exhaustive music library of CDs, books and magazines. Though Dave is no longer with us, his passion for music will live on in my grandson.

Our blessings in Christ are too many to count. A thick volume could not contain them. The apostle Paul puts it this way: "Now if we are God's children, then we are heirs - heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory." Imagine sharing in His glory forever. Imagine being a co-heir with the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills and then some. Imagine a mansion in the Father's house prepared for you. The precious is so common in heaven that gold serves as asphalt to pave heaven's highways.

Our momentary sufferings now are not worthy of comparison to our future glory. Just try to count your many blessings. In Christ, they are too many to count.
