OFFENSE: Without Dylan Sawyers, Carson struggled at times, but still had a few big plays. Austin Pacheco threw a 63-yard TD pass to Brock Pradere and made a nice 38-yard catch along the sideline. Sophomore Joey Thurman ran hard, and that's good news for the future. His 70-yard recover/return was huge. The offensive line is still struggling as Jackson Ketron, Trevor Shaffer and Trevor Hemsath all had big games for Douglas. I'm still waiting for the Carson front to dominate a good opponent up front. (three checks and a minus)

DEFENSE: The Senators did a tremendous job on Conner Peterson, holding him to 61 yards rushing, though he did have a 48-yard reception on a screen pass. The attention paid to Peterson made it easy for Michael Nolting and Nick Maestretti to have big days, however. Chance Quilling had a fumble recovery and interception, his third pick in two weeks, and Cole Dufresne made a nice play to get a fourth-quarter interception. (three checks)

SPECIAL TEAMS: Pacheco was 1-for-3 for the scond straight week, barely missing a 55-yarder wide left. He made the biggest kick of the night to keep Carson unbeaten in Northern 4A play. His kickoffs were good, but his punting still needs a little work. (four checks)
