RENO - Carson High scored three goals in the first 10 minutes en route to a 5-0 win over Wooster in a Northern 4A boys soccer match Wednesday night.

Carson coach Eric Masters said he is still awaiting the NIAA's decision on the Hug game. It was originally declared a double forfeit when the game was stopped in the 60th minute because of a fight. Carson protested the decision, and Masters hopes to hear something today.

The Carson coach was pleased with his team's play on Wednesday, especially in the first half.

"We played very well," Masters said. "We came out and scored in the second minute and were up 3-0 in the first 10 minutes. We put a ton of pressure on them. The first 40 minutes tonight was probably the best 40 minutes we've played all year."

Cristian Hernandez scored the first and third goals and Jason Martinez added the middl goal to get the Senators off to a good start. Martinez also had two assists, while Evan Sanchez had a goal and assist. Adam Shoaf scored his first goal of the season in the second half.

The defense was stout throughout.

"Zach Smith played awesome as well as Michael Samii," Masters said. "They helped us to have a clean slate."
