Struthers celebrate 55 years

Doug and Coyla (Masinelli) Struthers will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Sept. 17.

They met in Staunton, Ill., and were high school sweethearts.

They were married Sept. 17, 1956, in Carlinville, Ill. Doug was serving in the Marine Corps at the time and Coyla was working for the Army Depot in Granite City, Ill.

The couple have four daughters, JanaMarie Williams of Reno, Allisa Ann Hughes (Scott) of Simi Valley, Calif., Dina Stulz (David) of Carson City, and Teresa Bond of Gardnerville. They also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Doug has spent all of his life in law enforcement. He is a retired Douglas County sergeant and a retired judge from the East Fork Justice Court. He now works part time at the Carson Valley Inn,

Coyla worked for 17 years at The Record-Courier and has volunteered at the Topaz Ranch Estates Senior Center for the past 15 years.
