Mrs. Adolph Sutro: Mrs. Adolph Sutro is suing for divorce ... at first it was an amicable separation. She went to Paris and he had to pay her alimony to the extent of $300 per month, but according to her attorneys, she now wants half the property. Mr. Sutro is wealthy ... worth at least two million.

120 YEARS AGO

The Briggs House: This new hotel is composed of the old St. Charles Hotel and the Muller House. The new dining room was opened and is very large and neat and a great improvement to the building. The old St. Charles Hotel dining room will be fixed up as a billiard parlor.

70 YEARS AGO

Selig Olcovich died in the bay area. The deceased was a member of the Olcovich family that was prominent in Carson. Seligs' father conducted a dry goods business. When Selig was attending school in Carson, he and a son of the late Dr. S. L. Lee published a small newspaper of their own.

50 YEARS AGO

The Nevada Appeal has been named the best small newspaper in Nevada. The General Excellence award was one of six first-place, eight second-place and eight honorable mention awards presented the Appeal at the Nevada State Press Association convention in Las Vegas.
