Gardnerville couple missing

Authorities from Sacramento to Douglas County are searching for a missing couple who were on their way to Gardnerville.Roderick Paul Clifton, 44, and Paula Lane, 46, were last seen in Citrus Heights, Calif., on Thursday in a blue 1989 Jeep, with California plates 4VPB739. According to broadcast reports, the couple left Citrus Heights on their way to Carson Valley on Thursday afternoon. Their usual route was Highway 50 over Echo Summit, Highway 89 over Luther Pass, to Highway 88.They were reported missing on Friday, according to the California Attorney General Office's Missing Person's database.Douglas, Alpine, El Dorado and Sacramento county authorities started searching for the couple after they failed to answer their cell phone.Clifton is 5-feet, 11-inches tall, weighing 240 pounds with hazel eyes. Lane is blond, 5-feet, 4-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes.Anyone who sees them is asked to call the Citrus Heights Police Department at 916-727-5500.
