Washoe Fire: Highway 395 between Reno and Carson closed today

From the Nevada Highway Patrol:

The various fire departments are still working on the fire between Reno and Carson City. US 395 will remain closed all night tonight, tomorrow and possibly into Saturday. The Nevada Highway Patrol is asking motorists to find alternate routes to Carson City. These routes would be IR-80 to Fernley south to Silver Springs and then west into Carson City. Return route would be from Carson City to Sliver Springs north into Fernley and back to Reno. SR 341 Virginia City and SR 431 the Mount Rose Highway are also an alternate routes, but would advise motorists to carry chains or utilize four wheel drives due to the chance of inclement weather. Because of the chance of weather we advise motorists to give extra time in traveling to their destinations.
