RSVP Carson City volunteers will distribute USDA Commodity Foods from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

No one will be admitted before 9 a.m. Security will be present to enforce the policy.

Any needy family in Carson City can be eligible by signing the Issuance Sheet at the Community Center, certifying that their household's annual income does not exceed federal poverty guidelines, which are monthly gross income of $1,361 for a single and $1,838 for a couple. A picture ID or driver's license must be provided. Food may be picked up for the homebound or those unable to attend by bringing a signed note from them and their picture ID.

Food will be distributed as long as it lasts. Anyone declaring overly large families for commodities will be asked for proof of family members.

This month's commodity foods include: canned apple sauce, mixed fruit and peaches, canned green beans, potatoes and tomatoes, cherry-apple fruit juice, chunky beef stew, ham, dry lima beans and spaghetti noodles.
