Obituary: Gertrude P. Fiscus

Gertrude P. Fiscus beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away Friday June 8, 2012 . She was born on Valentine's Day 1939 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Peggy and Becky. Known as Patt to all her family and friends, she was immediately attracted to the theatre at a young age and began a long passion for acting. She achieved many accolades and awards in New York City and Los Angeles community theater.

She met her husband and soul mate Richard in 1976 and they married a year later combining their existing family of Patt's two children and Richards three children.

They moved to Washoe Valley in 1977 settling in with three of the five kids.

Patt started working in Reno as the business manager at Modern Classic Motors then moved on to be the comptroller at Reno Toyota where she stayed for over 20 years and with Richard, co-owned Reno Mazda-Kia. She had many long term friends and admirers at both companies.

Patt and Richard also had a deep passion for Arabian Horses and started Fiscus Arabian Farms in 1978. They were successful breeders of many national champions and produced many horses that were exported around the world.

Patt is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children Chris, Jennifer and Diane, step children Mike and Bonnie; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Per Patt's wishes there will be a mass held at Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City, NV on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patt's memory to FISH 138 Long St. Carson City, NV 89706
