Friends In Service Helping is looking for families who are struggling so it can give them a hand up with housing.

The amount of rent for each house is rated on a sliding scale depending on the family income but usually runs between $350 and $450 per month for a three- or four-bedroom house. Families can stay for a maximum of two years.

The purpose of this housing is to give families a chance to get caught up and build a savings account.

To qualify, the family must have children, at least one parent working full time and a favorable credit rating. No pets are allowed. FISH has a no-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol on all FISH property.

Those who would like to take advantage of this opportunity can call Lynne Shull at 775-882-3474 to discuss the application process.
