The state Parks Division is accepting applications for recreational trails projects this year.
The division has $589,488 in federal money to award to all levels ofgovernment and special districts, trails organizations and privatecitizens. A spokesman said eligible projects include not only new construction but maintenance and trail related facilities as well as educationprojects.
Past recipients have worked on a variety of projects ranging from the Tahoe Meadows snowmobile area to the Tahoe Rim Trail and the Nevada Trails Training Course.
Application packages are available at http://parks.nv.gov/trails.htm.
The deadline to apply is close of business April 6 at the state parks division offices, 901 S. Stewart St, Suite 5005.
