Monday's mild temperatures are expected to be followed up this morning with up to 2 inches of snow and high winds.

"A strong cold front will move across eastern California and western Nevada" Monday night and today, according to a wind warning issued by the National Weather Service. "The strongest gusts are expected (Monday night) and (this) morning."

Less than an inch of snow was predicted to fall overnight, but wind and cold temperatures could make for a dangerous morning commute.

"Strong cross winds and light snow will produce difficult driving conditions on area highways," said the weather service. "Although snow accumulations are expected to be light, motorists should expect reduced visibility and slick patches on area roads for the morning commute."

Today's high is forecasted to hit 37 degrees, with gusts of wind up to 35 mph. Up to 2 inches of snow could fall, likely before 10 a.m.

By Wednesday, the high is forecast at 46 degrees, and then should climb to 58 degrees on Thursday.

Friday and the weekend should be in the upper 50s or low 60s, according to the weather service.
