An account has been set up for the family of David Woolman, who died last week in China where he was living and teaching English.

Kristy Garcia, Woolman's aunt, said the family needs to raise nearly $13,000 to bring his body home before it is disposed of by the Chinese government in a week.

She said more than $3,000 was donated after a story ran in the Nevada Appeal on Wednesday.

Although his mother is living in Maryland where her Marine husband is stationed, Garcia said, the family has chosen Genoa as his final resting place, if they can get him home.

An account at Wells Fargo has been set up to collect donations to bring Woolman, 23, home. Donations may be made to account No. 6888140321 under the names Deborah Payne or David Woolman.
