Charly, 71, of Carson City, Nevada entered eternal life on May 9, 2012. He was born in Marysville, Michigan to parents Charles and Matilda Ward.

Charly was proud that he served his country as a Marine. He served from June of 1959 through October of 1968. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct Medals with (2) stars. Charly was known well for displaying love for his country by the daily raising and lowering of both the American and Marine flags.

After the Military, Charly worked in Wisconsin delivering dairy products and later on as a Maintenance Supervisor of a food distribution center. He then moved to California in 1985 and soon after started his new career as a Certified Safety Supervisor. In 2002, Charly retired and moved with his wife, Evelyn, to Carson City, his long-time dream. Charly loved to fish, bowl, and 'loved' his Green Bay Packers.

Charly is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Trudy; son, Charles 'Scott'; granddaughter, Brittany (whom he adored); brother, Clifford; 3 stepchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
