Combat with a cow: Colonel Jerry Moore in Ruby Valley discovered one of the cows stuck in the mud and rushed to her rescue. He caught her by the tail tugging her away until he hauled her out. By this time the blood in the old cow's veins had got to circulating again - and she turned upon her benefactor. His only salvation was in clinging to the tail. The old cow whizzed about and made a pass at him with her horns. (Eureka Sentinel)
