For the eighth year in a row, Bank of America made a $10,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada on Wednesday. “The Bank of America Foundation supports children and education,” said Michael Sharp, market president of Bank of America Carson City. “The Boys & Girls club fosters that in the community. We’re proud to be a supporter.”With the pledge of an anonymous donor to match up to $25,000 of donations from the community by the end of the year, that amount is essentially doubled.“This is such a blessing,” said Diane McCoy, the club’s director of operations. “Especially at this time of year.”Miles Construction also has pledged to donate, McCoy aid.In addition to the pledge drive, teens at the club are auctioning off a brand new quad runner donated by Michael’s Cycle Works. The youth will be selling tickets outside of Cal Ranch store this weekend and Fuji Park the next two weekends.The drawing for the quad will be Dec. 21. All money raised from ticket sales will go directly to helping buy Christmas presents for youth in need.Anyone interested in making a donation or buying raffle tickets should call the Boys & Girls Club at 775-882-8820.
