Candidate forums set for next week

The League of Women Voters has organized two candidate forums in Carson City next week.

The first on Oct. 17 at the Carson City Community Center will feature the pros and cons of Question 1 on the proposed city center project downtown. That will be followed by a presentation from candidates for the two Board of Supervisors seats. It begins at 6:30 p.m.

The second on Oct. 18 will be held at the Carson City Library auditorium and will feature a discussion of the pros and cons of state Ballot Question 1 which would change the state constitution to allow the Legislature to call itself into special session. That will be followed by candidates for Assembly District 40 and candidates for Carson City Board of School Trustees. It begins at 6 p.m.
