Warrell joins Sierra Counseling

Erin Warrell has joined the clinical practice of Sierra Counseling and Neurotherapy in Carson City.

Warrell graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a master's degree in counseling and educational psychology. She specializes in addictions, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, women's issues, group therapy and family therapy.

She is a marriage and family therapist intern and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor.

Social Justice Institute set

Community Chest, Charles Schwab and NV Energy will sponsor the second annual statewide Rural and Urban Nevada Social Justice Institute from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 7 at the University of Nevada, Reno in the Joe Crowley Student Union Ballroom.

The focus will be on social justice for Native Americans, inspiring youth with kindness, immigration issues, sexuality and violence, developing systems for equitable access to nutritious food, and improving communities with scarce resources. Leaders of various local organizations will speak, and the poetry group Spoken Views will perform.
