Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Sept. 6. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:• Arco AM PM, 4340 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.• Baskin Robbins, 3947 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.• Butler Meats, 1909 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.• Carson Lanes, 4600 Snyder Ave., scored 100 points.• China East, 1810 Highway 50 E., scored 93 points. The ambient temperature inside the reach-in opposite the grill is 55-60 degrees. A baffle is missing from the grill hood. Dish racks are stored on the floor.• Dotty’s, 3771 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.• El Charro Avitia Bar/Lounge, 4389 S. Carson St., scored 99 points. The inside bottom shelves of all reach-in units (including the beer keg cooler) are not clean.• El Charro Avitia Restaurant, 4389 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.• Grandma Hattie’s, 2811 S. Carson St., scored 94 points. There was no measurable chlorine sanitizer residual in the dishwasher during the final rinse cycle. Cooks were using their bare hands to assemble ready to eat food. All violations corrected on site.• La Enchilada, 3429 S. Carson St. #52, scored 95 points. The cold holding thermometer was missing. The screen was missing from the open ceiling vent, which can allow flies to enter, corrected on site. There was no certified food handler in this mobile food vehicle at the time of inspection.• Los Caporales Supermarket Meat Department, 1621 E. Highway 50 #G, scored 88 points. Employee was observed putting on clean gloves to serve customer without first washing hands. He washed his hands in the 3-C sink (full of dishes) instead of the hand sink and used a cloth towel to dry his hands. Bloody plastic containers are used to scoop spices onto meats and are stored in the spice containers, repeat offense. The walk-in is very disorderly with raw, unprotected animal skins and pork belly meats, repeat offense. Packages of meat are stored on the floor in the walk-in freezer. A knife is in the hand sink. There are bloody cloth towels laying around on food prep surfaces. There is no sanitizer storage bucket set up to store them. At least one employee of this department must be a certified food handler during all hours of food operations.• Subway, 3959 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.• The Spoke Bar and Grill Bar/Lounge, 3198 N. Deer Run Road, scored 100 points.• The Spoke Bar and Grill Restaurant, 3198 N. Deer Run Road, scored 99 points. The inside non-food contact surfaces of the table top convection oven were not clean. The bottom below the rack had accumulated debris.• Wally’s Pizza & Subs, 4600 Snyder Ave. #D, scored 99 points. New dish washing machine is not being operated properly to verify proper sanitizer levels during the final rinse cycle. Corrected on site.
