Two fun runs on Saturday will raise money for the family of Tiffany Day, a Carson High School junior badly injured in a car crash on Aug. 27. Tiffany’s mother, Stephanie Day is a longtime member of Kaia F.I.T., a women’s fitness organization, which is hosting the runs at 7 a.m. at Franktown Road in Washoe Valley and Stephanie Steeps off of Stephanie Way. “Stephanie has been so supportive and sweet through all of her years here,” said Angela Hypio, manager and head coach. “The was just so tragic. We want to help out the family.”Both runs are free, but donations for the family will be accepted.“If they want to donate the money to the hospital afterwards, it’s their’s to do with what they want,” Hypio said.Tiffany, 16, remains in critical but stable condition at Renown Medical Center in Reno after the collision at the intersection of Carson Street and Koontz Lane.According to police reports, Tiffany drove north through a red light, and her car was grazed by an oncoming driver. She was not wearing a seat belt, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported. Her passenger walked away from the crash, as did the driver of the second vehicle. The runs are open to both men and women, and all participants are invited to wear pink.
