The Churchill County Senior Center, in recognition of the community’s seniors, invites the public to join the center in a heartfelt salute to our older citizens on Wednesday,
If planning on attending the lunch, please RSVP by calling the senior center at 423-7096 no later than Mon., Aug. 19. Suggested donation for seniors age 60 and older is $3, while those 59 and younger pay $6. Individuals are asked to come to the center, located at 310 E. Court St. in Fallon, from 10-11 a.m. to sign in.
The program starts at 11 a.m., with a buffet lunch at 11:30 a.m. featuring BBQ Ribs, all the trimmings, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
In addition to lunch, the senior center will welcome special guests including City of Fallon and Churchill County government officials, Churchill County District Attorney Art Mallory, members of the Coalition for Senior Citizens Board, and Anne Pershing, former editor of the Lahontan Valley News and current Reno Gazette Journal columnist.
A large summer picnic basket filled with everything you need to serve a festive picnic meal will be given away in a fundraising raffle. Musician Darrell Johnson will provide his song and keyboard entertainment for the event.
