Officials say Nevada gambling revenue dropped 8 percent in July compared with the earlier, led by a 14 percent drop in Las Vegas Strip revenue.

Gaming Control Board officials say Nevada casinos brought in $926 million from gambling this July.

Las Vegas Strip winnings totaled $511 million, down 14 percent year-over-year, while downtown casinos brought in $39 million, down 4 percent from a year earlier.

Reno casinos won $49 million in July for a 6 percent gain. South Lake Tahoe casinos won $32 million and were up 9 percent.

The state collected $61 million in taxes off the July winnings. That’s down 9 percent from what Nevada took in a year ago.
