Obituary: Alice Evans Powell

Alice was born to the late George and Elma Evans, June 4, 1936, in Palo Alto, Ca. Alice graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1954. She lived in the Bay Area most of her life. Alice worked for H. P., Zack Elec., and Storm Products. She retired in 1998 then moved to Carson City, NV where she was active as a volunteer at the Carson Tahoe Medical Center and the Children’s Museum. In 2006, she received the prestigious Jefferson Award for Public Service in Carson City, NV.In 2007, she moved to Mesa, AZ living closer to daughter, Patricia Higgins. In 2011, Alice and the Higgins family moved to Rogers, AR. She continued her years of volunteer service in both AZ and AR. Alice was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Family in Carson City, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in AZ, and the Christ the King Lutheran Church of AR.Alice is survived by 1 child: Patricia Higgins, wife of Warren Higgins, and by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, Alice requests that donations be made to your local Humane Society, the Wild Horse Protection Agency, or Guide Dogs of America.Alice will always be our Best Friend Forever! A service will be held in Mesa, AZ on December 27 at Mesa Cemetery.
