We publish this morning the programme of the proposed skating carnival which is to take place Christmas Eve at Moore and Parker’s Hall under the aspics of the Olympic Club. The evening’s festivities will begin with a grand skating bout followed by a dance.

On Sunday evening, Robert Pitcher of this city died from a dose of poison which he said, before he died, was administered by a woman named Lizzie Lindsay. Pitcher entered Lyman Frisbie’s house and said he had jus taken a drink at Lizzie Lindsay’s. He died later at Dr. Lee’s. The evidence seems clear. Lindsay purchased strychnine at Thaxter’s Drug store not half an hour before the poisoning.

Socialism continues its growth in the southern part of the state is the tale that is told by nearly everyone who comes to Carson from the Tonopah and Goldfield country. It is said in the coming election that area will pull some 2,000 votes for socialism. A fusion ticket is being sought to beat the common enemy.

A reorganization meeting of Scout Troop No. 37 at Stewart was held last night. William Dial, chairman of the troop, said the Stewart contingent will once more be active.
