Joaquin Chargualaf (Chad) Taitano II

Joaquin Chargualaf (Chad) Taitano II, was born November 15, 1964, on Guam. He was the first of nine children born to Joaquin (Ken) and Katherine Taitano. Chad’s father was in the Navy, so he was a “Navy brat” for the first 13 years of his life and lived in Guam and San Diego. When his father retired from the Navy his family settled in Fallon. Chad graduated from Churchill County High School at the age of 16 (1981) and completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University at the age of 19. He was admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine with the help of Dr. Kurt Carlson and graduated medical school at the age of 24. Chad served in the Navy for four years and was a medical officer on the USS Hunley AS-31 and was very proud to be trained as a working diver. Chad completed his radiology internship in Denver and returned to Reno and started his on radiology business Reno Open Air MRI and also worked at the VA Hospital. In 2011, he was diagnosed with MS and succumbed to this illness on November 24, 2013. He is survived by his parents, Ken and Kathy; and siblings Kim, Rachel, Gina, Jodi, Nephi, Nikki, Dwight, and Lucella. He will be missed and held in the hearts of his famiy.
