SPORTS: Football/Wrestling

Q: What are your favorite sports and why?

A: Football is my favorite sport because I love the tenacious attitude you have to have on defense, and the nerves that come with each game. I also love it because it's a team sport and you have to have everybody's back.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?

A: Troy Polamalu because I love his wisdom in the game of football and his ability to read offenses and make clutch plays.

Q How do you feel about drug/alcohol testing at the high school level? Should it be random or should everybody on a team be tested at least once during the season?

A: It should be random to make sure nobody is certain of anything and they should just stay clean in the first place.

Q. If you saw a teammate using drugs or alcohol, what would you do? Would you talk to him about it or turn him into the coach?

A: I would talk to my teammate about it and tell him this is a place of victory and we don't need that kind of negative focus.

Q: The Olympics just ended. How much of the coverage did you watch and what sport did you enjoy watching the most and why?

A: Beach volleyball is my favorite Olympic sport because it isn't as organized as indoor volleyball so they have to make signature plays to win. They are also intense and motivated.

Q: Do you have any hobbies, and if so, what are they?

A: My hobbies are hunting, camping and fishing plus hanging out with my friends.

Q: Do you have a favorite TV show?

A: Duck Dynasty. I think the guys on the show are hilarious. They find the craziest stuff to do.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Waffles and bacon.

Q: What is the last non-academic you read?

A: "Hunger Games." I love this book because it is intense and a fight to the death that involves being mentally tough.

Q: If you could change one thing about your high school, what would it be?

A: I think we should change our class system and go back to three classes a day.

Q: What sport isn't offered at the high school level that you think should be?

A: I think we should have lacrosse. They play it all over the country, and it's intense and legit.

Q: After graduation, where do you plan to attend college and what are you looking at in terms of a major?

A: I plan to attend UNR and study wildlife biology. I'm interested in this because of my love for fishing.
