Ribmaster Rumble winners named

Carolina’s Kitchen was the winner of first place and people’s choice at the 2013 Ribmaster Rumble at the Carson Station.

Carson residents honored for editing

“The Gold Rush Letters of E. Allen Grosh and Hosea B. Grosh,” edited by Carson City residents Ronald M. James and Robert E. Stewart, has been selected for a 2013 Award of Merit for Leadership in History by the American Association for State and Local History.

The piece was also given an award of special recognition for its contribution to mining history as primary source material by the Mining History Association at its meeting on June 7. 


The awards are the nation’s most prestigious recognition for achievement in the preservation and interpretation of state and local history.

The award will be presented at the 2013 American Association for State and local History annual meeting Sept. 20 in Birmingham, Ala.
