Obituary: Matthew Clay Reeder

Jan. 16, 1971 - June 28, 2013

Matthew passed away on June 28 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Matthew graduated from Carson High School and attended UNR. He resided in Reno.

Matthew was an avid artist who loved to create sculptures, painting and animated characters. He had many passions in life including his family, music, cooking, electronics and art.

Each year Matt developed a haunted house that he delightfully shared with neighborhood friends, his son’s classmates and family. He and his son, Bryce, spent a great deal of time building the creatures that provided a frightful night of entertainment.

Matt was a loving father and family man with a fantastic sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Matthew leaves behind his son, Bryce; his beloved, Lisa; his mother, Judith Lowther; his papa, Richard Lowther; brothers, Rob of Reno, Brian of Spokane, WA; sisters, Gale (Sher) of Santa Rosa, CA, and Karen Reeder-Gould (John) of Carson City; nieces, Kenzie and Emily; nephews, Holden and Michael; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a memorial service on July 19th at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Family Church, 1201 North Saliman Rd., Carson City, NV 89701. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Family Church for the Bryce Reeder Education Fund (designated in the memo field).
