Player sign-ups, event sponsorships and raffle prize donations are invited for the 15th annual Western Nevada College Golf Classic.

The annual fund-raiser tees off Sept. 27 at Eagle Valley West Golf Course in Carson City. The event provides valuable assistance to students and programs at WNC.

“The tournament offers a great day of golf and camaraderie for a good cause,” said WNC Foundation Director Katie Leao. “I’m looking forward to seeing a strong turnout.”

The 18-hole tournament will feature a four-person best-ball format, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Teams of four players can sign up for $500, and businesses also can combine a sponsorship and team entry for $700. Cost is $125 for individuals.

Tournament business sponsors currently include Greater Nevada Credit Union, Carson Tahoe Health System and Lumos & Associates. Additional sponsorships also are available.

Players will enjoy raffle and tee prizes, a barbecue and awards ceremony, hole-in-one prizes, a margarita hole, on-course refreshments, a poker run, team photos and more.

Two par-3 holes will feature a new car/cash prize sponsored by Dick Campagni’s Capital Ford. Anyone who aces one of these holes will have the choice of $10,000 cash or money toward the purchase of a new vehicle.

Entries and sponsorships are being accepted until Sept. 6.
