Paul Eskeldson, construction manager for Parsons Commercial Technology Group, informed trustees in his recommendation the contract award is $90,001 under budget. Eskeldson also noted the work at E.C. Best was among the projects approved in the fall of 2012 by the Bond Oversight Committee, the Master Plan Task Force and the trustees.

Three other companies submitted bids for the project: K7 Construction of Reno (a bid of $912,186), Central Sierra Construction of Minden (a bid of $921,000) and Ferguson Construction of Fallon (a bid of $941,737).

The motion was approved unanimously. Bus Scharmann, interim superintendent, thanked trustees afterward as he noted their action ensured work on the project will begin this summer.
