Aug. 5, 1943 - June 23, 2013

On Sunday, June 23, 2013 Daniel Schultz passed on to his next adventure while surrounded by his family. Dan was born August 5, 1943 in Portland, OR. He grew up in Eureka, CA and later attended the University of San Francisco where he met and married Kathy, the love of his life and wife of 44 years.

Dan and Kathy moved to Truckee in 1969, where they fell in love with mountain life and had two daughters, Karma and Megan. Danny was attracted to the open oasis of Fallon and he and his family moved there in 1978. Danny continued his career in construction as a carpenter and later as a building inspector for three NV school districts. After the death of his brother, Fred and sister-in-law, Judi, Danny and Kathy welcomed their niece and nephew Aimee and Damian, expanding their family to one son and three daughters.

Danny’s zest for life was witnessed by his many hang gliding, rock climbing, and skiing adventures. Danny’s love and humor was especially felt by his wife, children, extended family, friends and his dogs.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Eberle and Irene Schultz; sister, Margaret McKenzie; brother, Fred and his wife, Judi; brother, David and his wife, Shirley.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Karma (Michael) Rivera; son, Damian (Tami) and grandson, Eberle; daughter, Aimee (Matt) O’Connor and granddaughters, Alyssa, Hannah and Taylor Wallack and step-grandchildren, McKenna and Justin O’Connor; daughter, Megan (John) McGuire and grandchildren, Marissa and Connor; brother, Robert (Kay) Schultz; aunt, Carolyn (Tom March) Kezsely and nieces, nephews and cousins.
