Indignant woman: A lady called at the Appeal office and ordered 100 visiting cards ... They were new style of Carpenter script and looked like a rapid style of free and easy hand writing. When she was handed the cards, she said I am paying for printed cards ... I can tell printing from writing, and you got Jim Chesley to write them. The foreman was obliged to put the form on the press and print a dozen before she would believe they had been printed on the press.

Mackey’s condition: John W. Mackey who was shot by W. C. Rippy is a very sick man. The bullet wound has healed but other internal complications have arisen. Later: Mackey’s physicians announce that his condition is rapidly improving and no operation will be necessary.
