Churchill County Sheriff deputies and other law enforcement personnel conducted a house-to-house search Saturday night, looking for a 24-year-old man who escaped on foot after a high-speed chase.

The search took place in northeast Fallon along Colorado and Dani streets as officers combed the neighborhood with pistols drawn.

The Nevada Highway Patrol began pursuing a Ford Mustang 18 miles north of Hawthorne after it passed another vehicle in a double-yellow stretch of U.S. Highway 95. An NHP trooper attempted to stop the Mustang, but the driver sped off, heading toward Churchill County.

According to police reports, the Walker River Tribal Police joined the chase and tried to stop the vehicle with spike strips, which did not work. The driver then led officers on a chase with speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.

As the car traveled toward Fallon, both the Fallon Police and CCSO laid down spike strips, which punctured several tires. According to the FPD, the vehicle continued to travel through Fallon at speeds of 60-70 mph and finally stopped at Colorado and Taylor streets. The male left the vehicle on foot, but authorities arrested a 30-year-old female passenger who did not leave the Mustang. The FPD said police officers, the Churchill County Sheriff Department and the NHP also searched yards from Colorado to Kedie and from Noel to Taylor streets. FPD said no one was injured in the pursuit, and there were no accidents within the city.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NHP at 775-684-0400.
