Senate Majority Leader Mo Denis says Part II of Democratic proposals addressing taxes are still to come in the Nevada Legislature.
He’s just not saying when.
The Las Vegas Democrat says more bills aimed at generating revenue for the state budget will be introduced “when they’re ready.”
At the start of the legislative session Democratic leaders in the Senate and Assembly pledged a top-to-bottom review of the state’s taxes.
On Wednesday, Democratic Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick introduced Assembly Bill 498, a bill that seeks to replace Nevada’s exemption-riddled live entertainment tax with an 8 percent admissions tax. A hearing on that bill is set for Tuesday.
Denis isn’t saying what other taxes are being considered, but time is running short.
The session must end by midnight June 3.
