Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for May 9-16. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

• Capitol Shell, 1462 S. Carson St., scored 94 points. The ambient air temperature of the sandwich reach-in was between 60-62 degrees. The floors were dirty in the dish washing area of the sandwich kitchen, along with the nearby walls.

• Carson Plaza, 2120 E. Long St., scored 100 points.

• Chef James Victorian Grille, 402 N. Carson St., scored 94 points. Shell eggs were found stored above celery in the walk-in refrigerator. Floors underneath and in between equipment were found dirty and grease laden. The walk-in refrigerator fan cover and vent cover above the three compartment sink were found covered in dust and debris. The main exhaust hood above the cook line was unclean. Employee medications were not stored in the first aid kit.

• Dollar Tree, 2709 N. Carson St., scored 92 points. There was a large gap between the metal rear entry door and the door frame, which could allow the entry of insects and rodents. Toilet paper and disposable paper hand towels were not supplied in the men’s restroom at the time of the inspection. The light does not work in the rear area storage walk-in cooler.

• Eagle Valley Market, 933 Woodside Dr., Suite 105, scored 100 points.

• El Pollo Loco, 1923 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

• Feisty Goat Pub, 1881 E. Long St., scored 98 points. Found expired use-by dates on dairy products in the reach-in refrigerator, corrected on site.

• Glen Eagles, Bar, 3700 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Glen Eagles, Restaurant, 3700 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Gold Dust West, Bowling Alley Bar, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

• Gold Dust West, Express Snack Bar, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

• Johnny Rockets, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite B, scored 100 points.

• Little Caesar’s Pizza, 1820 E. William St., scored 98 points. A plain cup without a serving handle was found dispensing cheese. The practice of co-mingling new toppings with old toppings was noted during inspection.

• Los Caporales Supermarket, Meat Department, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite G, scored 97 points. There was not a certified food handler working during the time of inspection.

• Los Caporales Supermarket, Take Out, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite G, scored 97 points. There was not a certified food handler working during the time of inspection.

• Men Wielding Fire, mobile food vehicle, scored 100 points.

• Murphy/Bernardini Juvenile Detention, 1545 E. Fifth St., scored 100 points. • Pizza Hut, 2441 N. Carson St., scored 94 points. There are no paper towels supplied at the rear kitchen hand sink, corrected on site. There was no certified food handler on duty.

• Quik Stop Market, 3006 N. Roop St., scored 100 points.

• Round Table Pizza, 3325 Retail Dr., scored 100 points.

• San Rafael Coffee Company, 711 S. Carson St., Suite 3, scored 100 points.

• Save Mart Supermarkets, Bakery, 3620 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Save Mart Supermarkets, Produce Department, 3620 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Sonic Drive-In, 1856 E. College Pkwy., scored 100 points.

• Sunopta Fruit Group, 2801 Conestoga Dr., scored 100 points.

• Taqueria La Salsa, 1946 E. Highway 50, scored 88 points. The chlorine dishwasher did not provide 50 parts per million chlorine residual in the final rinse cycle. The home style freezer unit was noted to have a cracked plastic surface at the bottom of the door and was not kept clean. No disposable paper hand towels were available for use in the men’s restroom. There was not a certified food handler present on this shift.
