Tiffany Day, a Carson High School senior who survived a near-deadly car crash last year, is organizing a volleyball tournament as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada.

“It’s where my parents stayed while I was in Renown,” she explained.

She suffered from a head injury, broken pelvis, broken collar bone and trauma to her lungs, after being ejected from the driver’s side window and her car rolled over her following a car crash on Aug. 27, 2012.

The tournament, part of Day’s senior project, is open to teachers, football players, soccer players, and varsity volleyball players, with a maximum of 12 players per team. There is a $5 fee to participate.

All proceeds from the tournament and entrance fees will go to the Ronald McDonald House. Games start at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
