Dennis Williams, passed away on October 7, 2013 at his home in Schurz.
Dennis was born on July 7, 1945 to Elwood Williams, Sr. and Lola Bobb in Fallon. He graduated from Churchill County High school in 1963. Dennis received an associate’s degree in Seattle.
He joined the United States Marine Corp after high school and was a Viet Nam war Veteran and was awarded a Navy Unit Citation medal. He was employed as a Federal Investigator.
He participated in sports such as baseball, basketball, football, bull riding, boxing and running.
Several years ago, Dennis moved to Schurz to make it his home.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his son, Dennis Williams, Jr.; and brother, Bert Williams.
Dennis is survived by his daughter, Karen; three (3) grandchildren of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Waynette Williams and Carolyn Crutcher; brother, Elwood Williams, Jr., and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p. m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr. Fallon (775) 423-2255. Inurnment services will be held Tuesday October 15, at 1 p.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley with military honors.
