Churchill County, in cooperation with other jurisdictions, agencies and organizations in the region, is preparing a Joint Land Use Study to address compatibility planning around Naval Air Station Fallon and within the Fallon Range Training Complex.

The second public workshop is this afternoon at 4 p.m at the County Commission Chambers, 155 N. Taylor St. The county would like to finalize the list of issuses to be addressed regarding the JLUS.

The primary objective of the JLUS is to reduce potential conflicts between NAS Fallon and the Fallon Range Training Complex and surrounding areas while accommodating new growth and economic development, sustaining economic vitality, protecting public health and safety and sustaining the operational missions of the installation and the range complex.

At this workshop, the public will be able to review and comment on the issues that have been identified for evaluation as part of the JLUS. Your input on additions or changes to this list will be welcomed. The public will also be asked to provide their input on the prioritization of the issues identified.

In order to develop a JLUS that is responsive to local needs, input from the public is critical.
