NWA hosts fundraiser on Saturday

Nevada Waterfowl Association invites the public to its 13th annual fundraising dinner and auction Saturday at the Fallon Convention Center.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with raffles, games, prize drawings and auctions available. Dinner served at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $50 and available at Frontier Liquor or at the door. Proceeds help support wetlands and waterfowl conservation in Nevada. For information, call 775-423-8232 or visit the NWA website.


FWGA elects new board for 2014

The Fallon Women’s Golf Association elected its new board of directors at its awards banquet Oct. 21 at the Fallon Golf Course.

Elected were Lonne Sheldon, president, Denise Smithwick, secretary, Marcia Ernst, delegate, Fay Rogers, treasurer, Jacque Johnson, delegate, Rita Hanifen, vice president, Donna Ahern, handicap chair, and Penny Wilkes, tournament chair.


Dahl to miss several weeks with knee injury

Former Fallon and Nevada standout Harvey Dahl left St. Louis’ game against Seattle on Monday with a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee, according to Rams coach Jeff Fisher.

Fisher said additional tests were performed Tuesday to Dahl’s left knee.

“The big thing with the report we got back from the doctor was that Harvey’s going to miss some time,” Fisher told ESPN.com. “[I] don’t know, a couple weeks, perhaps, with an MCL.”

St. Louis (3-5) hosts Tennessee on Sunday.
