The NFL season began with a bang and many games were decided in the final minute.

For 1999 Fallon grad Harvey Dahl and the St. Louis Rams, they started 2013 on the right foot, getting an important divisional win out of the way against Arizona. Playing at home, the Rams came back from behind to upend the Cardinals, 27-24, as quarterback Sam Bradford took advantage of the offensive line’s protection. Bradford completed 27 of 38 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns and was not sacked.

Dahl, a right guard, helped the Rams also gain 63 yards on the ground from Daryl Richardson.

Dahl faces his former team, Atlanta, on Sunday. The Falcons host the Rams at 10 a.m. on FOX.

On the East Coast, the New York Jets stunned Tampa Bay, 18-17, on a last-second field goal. With linebacker Josh Mauga (2005) on injured reserve, New York took advantage of a late-hit penalty that set up the game-winning field goal as time expired.

The Jets travel to New England on Thursday to take on Tom Brady and the Patriots. The game is at 5:25 p.m. and can be seen on the NFL Network.
