Carson City businessman Steve Browne talked about his book about his daughter, Katie May, on Friday at Western Nevada College.

Browne’s book, “How to Raise a Rocket Scientist,” traces journey of his daughter, who was born with cerebral palsy and went on to graduate at the top of her class at the University of Nevada, Reno, and now works for NASA.

The story is a fictional account of Katie May’s life, although about 90 percent of the novel is factual, Browne says.

The lecture was sponsored by the Disability Awareness Coalition along with WNC, Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno.
