A Fallon man died Sunday shortly after noon when he failed to negotiate a turn on State Route 341 north of Virginia City.

The Nevada Highway Patrol identified the driver as 67-year-old James Edward “Shag” Cooper.

The NHP said Cooper’s bronze colored 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck a guardrail on the west shoulder, and Cooper was ejected from the motorcycle where he received critical injuries.

The NHP said Cooper was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight where he later died from his injuries.
