The Greenwave boys golf team improved by 12 strokes in two tournaments last weekend in Elko County as Fallon sits in sixth place with the regular season winding down.

Fallon sits in sixth place with a 468.6 average and travels to South Tahoe and Truckee before the state tournament next month.

Jeff Evett powered Fallon to a fifth-place finish at Spring Creek after Fallon took sixth at Elko earlier. Evett led the team on both days with a 79 at Spring Creek and 82 at Elko.

Fallon finished fifth at Spring Creek with a total score of 452 while Lowry won the event with a 387, followed by Elko (408), Spring Creek (422) and Truckee (440).

Evett’s 79 was good enough for eighth with the lowest score being a 68 from Lowry. Corbin Waite finished with an 85, while Raymond Plasse and Mike Richards each scored a 95. Jake Kirsh finished with a 98 and Braxton Hunter had a 102.

Fallon finished sixth at the Elko tournament, racking up a score of 464 while the host won the tournament with a 404, followed by Lowry (409), Truckee (432), Spring Creek (434) and Fernley (446).

Waite and Plasse each scored a 92 at Elko as Lowry recorded the lowest score of 74. Hunter finished with a 97, followed by Kirsh at 101 and Richards at 107.
