Earth Mother Herbals, produced by Patty Gonzales of Fernley, offers products that not only cleanse, but are designed “to soothe the body, mind and spirit,” according to Gonzales.

Having used herbs for years, Gonzales searched for the “perfect” recipe to make a salve that would provide relief from injures she received in an auto accident.

Later, she obtained her clinical aroma therapist certificate.

What came about due to a misfortune, she has built into a business — Mother Earth Herbals. Gonzales now produces a line of handmade soaps, salves, lip and headache balms, bath salts and bath teas, creams, foot and body scrubs, cuticle balms, foot balms, lotions and lotion bars that are beneficial to those who enjoy herbal solutions for their wellbeing.

With the help of her husband, Billy, Gonzales sets up her products at a booth at the Fernley Farmers Market — next to the Mirage Garden & Gifts, 350 E. Main St. in Fernley for the last time Thursday. She will be open from 4-8 p.m.
