The University of Nevada volleyball team was predicted to finish 11th in the Mountain West preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The Wolf Pack earned 12 total points while Colorado State was picked to repeat as conference champions, garnering seven-first place votes and 97 total points. The Rams were followed by New Mexico in second place with 91 points and Utah State in third with 81. The Lobos’ Chantale Riddle was tabbed as the MW Preseason Player of the Year.

Nevada head coach Ruth Lawanson’s squad enters the 2014 campaign with a majority of their offensive production returning from last season, including senior middle blocker Tessa Lea’ea, a 2012 All-MW performer and the returning team leader in kills (307) from 2013. Junior middle hitter Sam Willoughby, a member of the 2014 MW Volleyball All-Star team, also returns.

Lyndsey Anderson and Kara Kasser, the Pack’s returning leaders in assists and digs, respectively, will also be back in the Silver and Blue in the fall along with seven other players who appeared in 20 or more matches last season.

Season tickets for the 2014 volleyball season are available and are $50 for adults and $45 for youth/seniors. Youth season tickets include a Pup Club membership, which provides a free T-shirt in addition to season tickets for football, volleyball, baseball and softball.
