On July 17, the Division of Child and Family Services hosted an appreciation event barbecue for local foster families and their children. This event was an opportunity for the agency as well as the community to show appreciation for foster families that give so much of their time, energy and nurturing to care for abused and neglected children. Because of the generosity and effort of agencies, businesses and individuals listed below, this year’s event was a huge success: Harrah’s Lake Tahoe; CASA of Carson City; Papa Murphy’s; Zephyr Cove Resort; Mrs. Debbie Theiss; Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada; Walgreens; Stafford Automotive; Pepsi Co.; Northwest Martial Arts; Coca-Cola; Jiffy Lube; Crystal Ice & Oil Co.; Grandma Hattie’s Restaurant; 7-Up Inc.; Carson Valley Inn; Costco; Chevy Club; East Fork Swimming Pool District; Carson Aviation Adventures; Butler Meats; IHOP; Buffalo Wild Wings; ASJ Small Engines, Etc.; Tangles Hair Salon; Sheriff Ken Furlong; Nevada State Railroad Museum; Officer Lisa Davis, D.A.R.E.; Red’s Old 395 Grill; Douglas County Kid’s Fishing Derby; Walmart in south Carson City; Douglas County Senior Center; Stadium 4 Cinemas; and West Coast Martial Arts.

And to everyone that assisted and donated their time and talents, thank you.
