Murphy execution (continued from Wednesday). He seemed deeply interested in a large book which we would read at irregular intervals. He was polite and communicative and showed his book which bore for its title the following inscription: “Spiritualism by Judge Edmonds and G.T. Deiter.” Several places had the corners turned down. The first passage, which arrested our reporter’s attention, sounded as loud to his mind as the church bell to the ear: “The Ultimate End of Man!” (Continued on Friday.)

John Sullivan, head of the bureau of vital statistics, said today that during the past four years there were twice as many births as deaths. Sullivan revealed a large majority of all the children born in the state were of native Nevadan parents.

Three Nevadans are to cast their votes today for President Johnson in the state’s only presidential balloting which really matters. The Democratic electors, chosen at the state party convention last year, were to cast votes based on the Nov. 3 returns.
