Gertrude (Trudy) G. Hushbeck passed away February 11, 2014 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho at the age of 89. Trudy is survived by her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Trudy lived a wonderful and full life being a great mother to all her children, a patriot to her country, and loving wife to her late husband, Col. Elgin L. Hushbeck, who passed away in 2003. Trudy will be missed by all her family as she was a great mother, inspiration, teacher, and friend. She was a role model for all the women in the family with her strength, love, commitment, and caring way. Her children were born in Japan, England, and the United States as she traveled around the world supporting her husband and the troops. Her family loved her dearly and will miss everything she was to us and others. Trudy will be missed by our country. From the times she spent in the Army Air Corp to Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Nevada, Trudy loved her country and fought the battle everyday to keep us strong. She helped elect state officials, governors, senators, and presidents, leading campaigns and fund raisers to ensure the right people helped run our country. So we say goodbye to a wonderful woman, leader, mother, and friend to all. We wish her the best forever. We know that she and our father are together again forever.A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley, 1281 North Roop Street, Carson City, Nevada.
