Two Carson City men, ages 29 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of felony robbery of a victim over 65 years old.

According to the men’s arrest reports:

A deputy was advised Friday that a man was chasing another man toward the Carson Nugget and was dispatched to the area. When he arrived, several other deputies were looking for the suspect.

A woman said she’d been returning to her car from a coin shop after selling coins when a man grabbed her hand bag. She said she fought with the man, but that he’d knocked her down and she’d fallen to the ground, hitting her head. She said her purse had contained about $250.

Nugget security workers said they’d reviewed the video and identified the suspect. In the meantime, a man told law enforcement he was leaving the casino when he saw the robbery, then chased one of the alleged robbers.

A sergeant learned that the alleged robbers might be staying at a hotel in the 800 block of South Carson Street. There, law enforcement identified one of the suspects based on printed images from casino video surveillance.

That suspect, Jeremy Ryan Wilson, was arrested at 3:54 p.m. on the felony count, as well as on a failure-to-appear/traffic warrant out of East Fork Township. Total bail was set at $40,397. Also arrested was Kevin Wrzesinski, on the felony count, at 4:27 p.m. Bail was set at $40,000.

Surveillance video showed that Wilson had dropped the hand bag down an elevator shaft at the casino. It was recovered.
