DAYTON — Austin Fletcher scored with five seconds left in the game to snap a 48-all tied and give the Dayton Dust Devils a 50-48 win over South Tahoe Tuesday night in a Divison IA boys basketball game.

The win gives Dayton, 7-4 overall, some momentum heading into Friday’s game at Fallon. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

South Tahoe had one last shot to win and a 3-point effort from just inside half-court hit the rim and bounced away.

Fletcher led Dayton scorers with 22 points, and South Tahoe had no answer defensively for him.

“From the middle of the second quarter to the end of the game we put him inside and ran four-out (four on the perimeter),” Dayton coach Jason Santos said. “We just keep feeding him the ball, and Tahoe had no answer for him.”
